Kirifuri Highlands and Maruyama

The day was bright and sunny yesterday and I requested to have the morning off to do the Kirifuri trek, which was supposed to take me just four hours. Though the morning didnt go well, the 40-min walk to Kirifuri calmed me down and I looked forward to my hike.

To my dismay, there were so many trails in the forest and there were no clear signs pointed to the right one. Luckily the view was worth all the effort. The weather was unbelievably good and it tempted me to continue the walk. In any case, I lost my orientation when going through the forest earlier, there was no way I was going to turn back the same way I came.

As the story continued, one yama led to another, and I ended up walking for 7 hours and climbing both Oyama and Maruyama :-)

River crossing to go Oyama.

2 hrs later after bashing through the forest, scratches by twigs and overgrown shrubs.

Thank goodness the view was worth it.

Cutting through the herds to go downhill

Uncle Sweet who brought me to Maruyama, bought me ice-cream and sent me to the lodge
