Tsukiji Market

It was a great opportunity to visit Tsukiji Market. The guest house that we were staying was only 10 stations away from the market station. Though I was very tired and slept only past 12. It was simply too good a chance to miss.

I woke up at 0430hr and caught the 2nd train at 0515hr. Thanks to Yuri who had kindly checked the train schedule the night before for me. There were not many people on the train, mainly the old people and most got off at Tsukiji as well.

Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple. They call this a buddhist church and embrace the Amida Buddha (Buddha of Infinite Light & LIfe)

Hoya in japanese. But I have no idea what it is

Never seen such huge GAN BEI in my life.

These clams are just as big.

You can tell how big they are if you compare them to the size of the woman.

A fish monger checking the fish before the start of the auction. The tail fin of the fish has been cut and they keep poking at the tail.

Fish mongers lining up for the bidding.

The auctioneer who started the auction with a singing tune.
